DIY: Muffins.

October 7, 2010

Ahh, this recipe is soo delicious, I must share it with you! :) First, I made the recipe for the normal muffin dough and then I divided the whole mass and added some other ingredients, because I wanted to make two different flavors.

Ingredients for the dough:
250g (UK = 8,8 ounces) of flour
2 heaped teaspoons of baking powder
2 heaped tablespoons of sugar
2 pinch of salt
1 huge egg
80 milliliter (UK = 2,8 fluid ounces) of neutral vegetable oil or liquid butter
200 milliliter (UK = 7 fluid ounces) of milk

Extra ingredients for variation 1:
2 apples
Cinnamon
Grated or chopped nuts (e.g. hazelnuts or almonds)

Extra ingredients for variation 2:
Cocoa powder
Nutella or another chocolate cream

For decoration:
Plain chocolate
Chocolate crumbles
Colored sugar crumbles

First, preheat the oven to 392°F (200°C), then mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

Next, use a second bowl to stir the egg, oil and milk together.
Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients while you permanently stir up everything and do so until all ingredients are mixed and there are only some little clumps.
Afterwards, divide the whole mass of dough and distribute it to two different bowls. To one part of the dough, add the chopped apples, cinnamon and nuts, to the other half of the dough add chocolate cream and cocoa powder and again mix everthing.

Then fill two third of the muffin tins with the dough and put them into the middle of the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
After having taken the muffins out of the oven, let them cool down for a minimum of 5 minutes before you take them out of the tins. :)
Finally, you can carefully melt the plain chocolate in a pot, pour a bit of it over the chocolate muffins and then decorate them with some crumbles. I love mine, they are so colorful and tasty. :)

Hope you have fun, let me know when you try out this recipe yourself. :)

The Baltic Sea.

October 6, 2010

Last weekend my mother and I went on a short holiday to the Baltic Sea and spent some wonderful days there, we had a cute suite for the two of us, we enjoyed our walks along the beach, smellled fresh sea air and had some delicious dinners. :) Fotunately, the weather was great and there was much sun, all in all it was fantastic and now I can’t wait for university to start. :)

I really missed him, although we stayed there for only 3 nights. :)

I crocheted myself this scarf and woolly hat, they are sooo comfortable. :)
This woolly hat is self-made, too. :)

The fish there is full of fat, but I couldn’t pass this stand without eating something, because I’ve already been there in summer with Anja. <3
The weather was simply awesome! :)
I also took some photos with my analogous cameras, but it’ll take some time for them being developed so I’ll have to wait until I can publish them here. :)

What was your last short holiday, where have you been? :)
Love, Lu

I’m in love with my typewriter.

October 1, 2010

Ha, I’m so happy, because today my mother came to visit me and she brought me her old typewriter, I really really wanted to have one so badly and now I’m the proud owner of this beauty. :) There’s even enough ink that I can write with it, but of course I’ll have to buy new one. :) The best thing is that the typewriter perfectly matches my new autumn home decoration, the color is just perfect. :) I can’t wait to use it to write on some cute, tiny cards.
Wish you a nice autumn weekend,
Love, Lu :)

DIY: Laundry basket makeover

September 28, 2010

Here’s something I made yesterday: I have this old laundry basket which I use to store some photos. Because I didn’t like the old cover anymore and because I wanted to use the basket as a coffee table, I decided to cover it with new fabric. Apart from the fabric, you just need a stapler to fix it on the cover.

Wish you a lovely Tuesday,
Lu <3

DIY: Pumpkin soup

September 27, 2010

Here’s a pumpkin soup recipe I tried out this afternoon and I used the remaining hull of the pumpkin as decoration for autumn, can’t wait for darkness to come so that I can put a tea light into it. :)

Ingredients of the pumpkin soup:

Butter or oil
2 chopped tomatoes
1 huge onion, chopped
Some garlic
350g pumpkin, peeled, chopped and cooked
1/2 tablespoon finely ground nutmeg
500ml vegetable broth
1 tablespoon flour
120ml cream or milk

First, you need to melt the butter and steam the onion and the garlic, then add the tomatoes. Afterwards, add the pumpkin with the vegetable broth and let everything boil up until all ingredients are soft. When this is done, reduce the temparature of your herd and let the soup cook slowly for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Mix the flour with the cream and add this to the soup and don’t forget the nuteg and some pepper and salt. :)
Ideally served with some fresh bread or baguette, perfect for autumn. :)
Love, Lu
