Hello and welcome to my blog!
I’m Luisa Beck, also called Lu, I’m 34 years old and I live in wonderful Berlin, also spending lots of time in Regensburg, Bavaria.
I am a Creative Content Creator, Handlettering Artist and DIY enthusiast and I am the founder and editor of Luloveshandmade.com where I share colorful everyday life happiness, handletterings, party inspiration, tutorials and other creative content. Apart from this, I work as Head of Content & Communications at Makerist and have been working as Blogger Relations and Social Media Manager for several years.
I’ve always been creative and during my childhood and adolescence, I have already been given the opportunity to try out different crafting techniques: I worked with wooden materials, drew a lot, painted, stitched up shirts, tried out textile color projects and my mother showed me how to crochet.
In 2009, I started my blog, quickly made some new online friends and became more and more interested in crafting. I got my first own sewing machine and taught myself how to sew. I’ve become better and better and in spring 2010, I started to sell my own handmade things online in my shop on DaWanda. My sales were slowly increasing and in the meantime, my blog had become more than a hobby and I had already started posting regularly and developed my blog’s content, whose main focus is now on everything handmade, decor projects, party concepts, handlettering, fashion, cooking and a bright and colorful lifestyle.
In the summer of 2011, I quit my part-time job as a tutor for English and started working in a beautiful fabric store next to my English studies at university. Before I left for a new job opportunity at DaWanda, I worked there for 1 1/2 years, helping customers with their projects and doing sewing products for the store aaaaand I also officially registered my business.
In 2013, I started working at DaWanda, Germany’s biggest online marketplace for handmade and design. At first, I was an intern, then a working student and then I was hired permanently as a Blogger Relations Manager. I’ve been working there for four and a half years, learned a lot while developing and carrying out the blogger relations strategy, taking care of the corporate blog, planning campaigns and organizing events. Such a wonderful fun time!
In 2017, I was hired by notebooksbilliger.de in order to build up their blogger and public relations sector. I love developing creative strategies and exciting concepts and worked there for nearly four months. I then cancelled my contract for working at ArtNight for another three months before I started focussing more on own commissionned work with Luloveshandmade and then joined the wonderful team at Makerist where I am the Head of the Content & Communications Team and am responsible for team coordination, for the corporate online magazine, content creation, DIY shootings and cooperation communication with other brands.
As you can see, creative work, exciting campaigns, communication and craftiness have always been an important part of my life and for the last few years, this blog has also become more than just a hobby: it has become my place to share my work and ideas, to connect with other people and to express my creativity. Writing this blog simply makes me happy.
Now you know more about how Luloveshandmade has developed and what you are going to expect here on my blog. Have fun reading my articles and I always appreciate your feedback! Let’s enjoy the little things and make everyday life bright and colorful!
