Hello everyone! Eeeeeeeks, I am so so so excited to finally write this blogpost! Back in May, I hosted a super colorful and summery craft party with a few of my best friends, having a bright food table and lots of DIY projects to craft.
I celebrated this summery party in cooperation with Dr. Oetker who provided me with tasty pudding for my guests. Of course there was also lots of other delicious food and bright decor and I prepared everything with so much excitement about all the details.
See yourself and get inspired for your own next summer craft session with your friends!
My Colorful Summer Craft Party – The Food Table
As always when hosting such a party, I come up with a whole color and decor concept and want everything to be visually appealing. I crafted cardboard decor, buntings, tiny food toppers and lots of other decorative elements and then I made a plan for the food table, collecting ideas for recipes and thinking about how to arrange everything.
There were salad, cake, donuts, sandwiches and fresh summer drinks. You can be sure that my guests didn’t leave hungry.
Dr. Oetker is celebrating their new Marmorette Cookies & Creme pudding with their current campaign “Mixing up is more fun” (= “Durcheinander macht mehr Spaß”) and they sent me plenty of pudding for the food table and the party.
The pudding consists of soft milk cream, mixed with a light chocolate mousse and topped with chocolate cookie pieces. To perfectly match the fruity decor theme of the party, I embellished the pudding cups with cute cardboard wrappings, looking like watermelons (and also pineapples). Soooo lovely!
You can cover the pudding with your cookie pieces or even enjoy it without them (for the rare chance that you belong to people who don’t like cookies).
So this is my super pretty and colorful food table: watermelon feta salad with fresh mint leaves, a green salad with roasted peach slices and mozzarella cheese, vegan donuts I bought at Brammibal’s Donuts and a no-bake cheesecake by Tina Tausendschön whose recipe I found on DaWanda and which I had already made for my circus party. Moreover, there were sandwiches, puff pastry tomato rolls and the Marmorette Cookies and Cream pudding by Dr. Oetker. Apert from the pudding and the donuts, all the other things were homemade by me.
Mhhhh, so so good! Looking at those photos makes me wanna eat all of this again!
The Colorful Summer Craft Party Decor and the DIY Projects
To fit all guests at one long table, I redecorated the bedroom for this day. I move the bed to the living-room, freed my two white desks, collected all of our chairs and put everything together in the middle of the room.
I came up with the brightest cardboard wall decor which I cut out one evening long. Looking at this photo makes me so happy and I love such bright decor spots.
Next to the craft tables, I put a DIY buffet where I collected all the supplies and some craft examples for all the summerly projects I wanted to make with the guests.
Inspired by a DIY jewellery trays I found via Aww Sam, I also wanted to make similar ones with my guests. I bought clay and acrylic colors for this and prepared some examples beforehand.
As another project, I planned to make jewellery out of FIMO (remember the FIMO statement necklace I once made?) and with some wooden beads.
The other project I was really looking forward to was embellishing plant pots. I bought a bunch of tiny cacti and succulents at IKEA and also brought the white flower pots with me. From my cooperation with PILOT and the longboard makeover, I still had plenty of their PINTOR pens left which write on any surface.
My Summer Craft Party with my wonderful Friends
Yippie, some of my best friends came and we celebrated a summery and colorful craft party together. My gorgeous friend Franzi even came in a handmade lemon shirt, matching the party’s decor concept. So cute! She’s great at sewing (and also at many other things like longboarding and design).
Sweetheart! My lovely cousin worked on a cactus jewellery tray and it turned out great (see the later photos for proof :)).
We started with painting the clay pieces that I prepared, then we went to making jewellery and later on, we painted the plant pots. In between, there was always enough time to raid the food table and to have a pudding.
My sweet friend Eva a.k.a. one part of Kiez Couture stayed true to her fave color scheme: black, white and petrol. What a pretty jewellery tray!
All those lovely ladies! Thanks for being my friends and for always making my life more fun! <3 And thank you for supporting me with my creative projects, eeeeks!
My dear Wiebke. We once worked together at DaWanda and then we became friends some years ago and experienced many adventures since then.
Lemons everywhere!
I think Anna missed a career in being a sweet pudding model. :-D She’s my sister in crime when it comes to all color-related things and creative projects.
What a happy day! I love having my friends around me, getting crafty, enjoying good food and having fun!
Ladies! Over the past few months, it was a pleasure watching Sina become pregnant, becoming a mother and see her little daughter grow. By the way: she’s working on her indie business mit jedem Herzschlag for which she sells handmade baby clothes. So cute!
I absolutely adore all those cute jewellery trays we made inspired by Aww Sam! Moreover, we also found inspiration in the beautiful jewellery trays that Quiet Clementine makes and we painted some of ours similar to hers to use them for our own nightstands. Thank you for the inspiration, ladies!!
My sweetheart Aentschie is always part of the fun and I’m so glad to have her!
Do you see that great necklace that Susi made? She painted all those wooden beads and I love the way she styled them. Apart from being a secret pro in designing jewellery, Susi is a food blogger and runs the vegan and vegetarian food blog Brokkoli Bastards with her boyfriend. Delicious!
This was a great day! Thank you for spending it with me, my dear friends!
And you, dear readers, thank you for following along the fun! Make sure to let me know in case you adapt some of the DIYs or decor ideas, I’d love to see your photos! :)
In case you became curious, there a whole page about the pudding that Dr. Oetker created. On the Marmorette pinboard, you can find some fun posts from fellow bloggers who did something with pudding or also hosted a fun party.
When you check out my Instagram Stories highlights, you can also see a video story from the craft party day.
Happy Sunday! :)
