Favorite Restaurants and Cafes: Lu Loves Glücklich am Park
Do you know those places where you would travel really far just to go there because they are so pretty and it simply makes you happy being there? Kauf Dich Glücklich (in English: Buy yourself happy) and Glücklich am Park (in English: Happy in the park) are some of those places! Kauf Dich Glücklich is a fashion online shop and they also have several small offline stores. Two of them are located in Berlin. One of them is only a cafe, the other one – which is Glücklich am Park – also sells fashion.
For all of you Berlin people among my readers, this place might not be something new for you, but because many of you live somewhere else and often send me e-mails asking for Potsdam and Berlin places which are a must see and go, I couldn’t resist showing you this place which belongs to my favorites when spending time in Berlin, in summer as well as in winter.
I always go to Glücklich im Park (or also to Kauf Dich glücklich) because of their nice furniture, their lovely atmosphere and because of their heavenly good waffles, hmmm, but you can also get the best ice cream, savory waffles and good coffee and in summer, they will also serve refreshing drinks.
Everything in there is filled with vintage furniture, pretty pops of color, bright and white walls and cute decor elements.
My very favorite thing there are the sweet waffles with hot cherries or ice cream, my very very favorite ice cream flavor there is Milchschnitte (which is a creamy German sweet treat made with lots of milk and sugar ;)), yum!
What I love a lot are all the colorful chairs and white tables outside, maybe the thing which this place is most famous for. In summer, I love sitting outside and drinking a super refreshing elderflower syrup drink with fresh mint, so delicious!
The whole place is so nice to look at, on the inside as well as on the outside. It simply makes me happy going there and see all the pretty details.
If you’re in Berlin, you definitely have to go there and try a waffle, you won’t regret it! :)

Recipe: The World’s Best Potato Salad.
Hello, my dear readers! Today I’ve got a really special recipe for you, my very favorite party salad and in my opinion the world’s best potato salad! :) We have been making this salad for many parties for about four years now and each time, the party guests liked it so much that they then spread the recipe among their own friends and acquaintances. It’s not difficult to make it and it’s super tasty! :)
Ingredients you need:
– Potatoes
– Fresh spring onions, a red onion and fresh garlic
– Dried tomatoes, olives and feta / sheep’s milk cheese
– Green pesto (freshly made like after this pesto recipe or just the normal one from your local market)
Cook the potatoes and let them cool down (I prefer boiled potatoes made a day in advance, they taste best). Then cut them into cubes and put them into a bowl. Next, cut dried tomatoes and add them. Also add olives, chopped onions and garlic and the sheep’s milk cheese. Last but not least, add the pesto.
Then mix everything and let the pesto’s oil soak into the potatoes.
Tastes with some bread or toast and aioli or combined with all your other favorite party salads.
Mhhh, so delicious!

Mogli!:* He is six and a half years old and we got him when he was a baby of eight weeks, the cutest little thing on earth! When he looks as stupid as on this photo, he always makes me laugh. :D
Is there a place that you love?
My sewing corner is my happy place! Here I work on new items form my shop, make sketches or prepare new DIY projects for my blog. There’s
no other place where I can better set free my creativity.
Is there something old that you love?
Oh yes, my 50s vintage kitchen cabinet which I found online and restored and painted myself.
Is there something new that you love?
I love this handmade camera pillow I once made. Maybe there will soon be more of these in my shop.
Which food do you love?
Mhhh, I love homemade food, for example like this delicious dessert.
Which flowers do you love?
My latest obsession are handmade paper flowers like those on the photo, but I also love fresh and colorful cloves, tulips and ranunculus.
What secret pleasures do you love?
I love dressing up and wearing costumes (but to be honest, not only secretly) like this handmade wonder woman costume three years ago. :)
