Review: origrami (Instagram Photo Printing Service)

October 1, 2013

Hello hello! Most of you may have already noticed that I’m a little bit obsessed about Instagram, haven’t you? :) Instagram is my favorite toy in everyday life and I take several photos nearly every day. I was super excited when I first heard about origrami which is a Sydney-based indpendent business for creating beautiful Instagram prints and the happier I was when they provided me a package with my Instagram photo prints for review.

On their website you can choose between two options, the retroprint (this is the option which I have chosen) and the squareprint. Both options include 36 photos, the retroprints are 4″x5″ (=10×12,7cm) wide and cost 21,95$ (= ca. 15€) and the squareprints are 4″x4″ wide and cost 19,95$.
Although the squareprints are super pretty, too, I chose the retroprints, because I like their polaroid look. :)

The photos come with a super pretty cardboard package with a white camera print on it, so nice to look at!

It wasn’t easy to decide on 36 photos and limit my favorite summer photos to this number, but in the end, I picked out my favorites and was so excited to hold them in my hands.

This photo might me one of my favorites from this summer. :)

The quality of the printed Instagram photos is really good (although the photos were just printed from my phone photos I took via Instagram) and the colors are as bright as they were on my display. When I opened my origrami package, I coudn’t stop arranging and then rearranging the photos over and over again. ;)

What is really special is that these photos either have a photomap, a postcard style or these super pretty colorful camera images on their back. The photomap can only be chosen when you use geo tags for your photos (which I never do), but the colorful cameras are my favorite background anyways.

On the bottom of each photo’s back, there’s the date on which the photo was taken, how many likes it got on Instagram and there’s your photo description (with hashtags) that you once used when you uploaded the photo. I think this is super nice for keeping it as a memory for your personal photo collection.

I really really enjoyed looking through all those photos while holding them in my hands and remembering all those precious moments from this past summer!
To me, origrami is awesome and I’m sure this won’t be the last time I ordered prints of my photos. :)

To conclude, I’m extremely satisfied with the result, the photo’s quality, the price (and worldwide shipping is free!), the nice contact and not to forget how fast they have arrived (less than two weeks from the other side of the world!), so I can absolutely recommend origrami as Instagram photo printing service! The only condition for printing out your photo via origrami is having an Instagram account in which you can then directly log in via their website.
Can’t wait to make a huge photo album with Instagram photo!

Happy day!
Lu

P.S.: Although this blog post was sponsored by origrami (I got their photo package for review), this does not touch my personal opinion on them and of course I wouldn’t recommend them if I wasn’t completely satisfied. Thanks! :)

Shop Update: Postcards and Posters for Fall and Winter

September 27, 2013

Hello, hello! :) Eeeeeks, here’s a shop update! These past days I’ve been working like crazy to finish each a postcard and a poster with an illustration for fall and winter.

This is Frieda Fox, the colorful lady who lives in the forest. Her favorite season is fall and she loves cozy evenings.

This is Rosa the Reindeer. She loves winter, the holiday season, long sleigh rides and crafty Sunday evenings at home, drinking some egg nogg.

Eeeeeks, which one do you like best?
If you want to call one of the illustrations your own, they are available as DIN-A-4 posters and DIN-A-6 postcards, you can buy them here in my DaWanda shop. :)
Happy, happy!

DIY: Faux Leather Scallop Bunting Necklace

September 25, 2013

Hello, hello! Remember my last post featuring the craft supplies of my sponsor idee. Creativmarkt? I posted a tutorial for how to make an easy wire statement necklace and
another DIY for how to make a toy animal necklace. This time, inspired by Anja’s triangle bunting necklace, I’m going to show you how to make a faux leather scallop bunting necklace, also using craft supplies I have chosen and idee. Creativmarkt sponsored
for this cooperation. Have fun making your own necklace!

Here’s what you need (partly available via idee.):
– A necklace chain and a necklace clasp
– Tiny jewellery rings
– Jewellery plier and scissors
– Faux leather
– A sharp item like a bradawl (or a hole puncher for leather)

Although the tutorial is relatively self-explanatory, I’m gonna tell you a few sentences: cut out tiny faux leather scraps and cut them into scallop-shapes.

Use your bradawl (or other sharp tool) to make holes at the top corners. Then use your plier and the tiny rings to connect the faux leather pieces.

Connect all of them and finally attach the chain.

Then you only need the clasp.

Use two more jewellery rings to connect the clasp with the chain.

That’s it!

Have fun with your new necklace! :)
Lu
P.S.: As always, although the supplies for this blog post have been
sponsored, this doesn’t touch my opinion on the sponsor or my decisions
concerning this blog post’s content! :)

“Bye Bye Summer!” Sweet Table

September 23, 2013

Hello, dear readers! Here’s last weekend’s big project, a “Bye bye summer!” sweet table! This past Sunday, we were having guests for a little party at our home which I had already been planning for a few weeks. I totally was in the mood for making another sweet table (find the other older party tables here, so I have been thinking about a theme and decided to say bye bye to summer. For this occasion, I then needed a color concept and decided on using a bright yellow in combination with lots of white and natural colors, eeeks!

I made plenty of super delicious apple-cinnamon cupcakes (recipe coming soon) and my very first homemade cheesecake (recipe also coming soon). Moreover, I bought donuts, popcorn and the thing which is called “Americans” here in Germany (but in English-speaking foreign countries, these tasty pieces of pastry are called “black and white cookies” and are usually available in two colors).

To decorate the sweet table, I collected constalks and grasses and bought tiny pumpkins on the market.

Mhhh, my very first homemade cheesecake, it turned out sooo good!

Moreover, I’m especially proud of all those delicious cupcakes. Flo said they were the best I have made so far, yay! :)

As many of the other decor elements, the paper dishes were sponsored by partyerie, my favorite shop for party supplies. :)

Oh, I’m so happy about how bright the photos have turned out and how pure the sweet table looks with this nice combination of color and light.

The honey combs were part of the package that I’ve chosen from partyerie, but the pompoms are handmade and the tassel bunting, too. I used fabric leftovers, cut it in stripes and Flo was so sweet to help me to tie them onto the cord.

Our party was great and apart from all the tasty sweet things, we also had another food table with savory things, partly prepared by me, partly with things brought by our guests.

I’m so proud of this lovely sweet table and how I was able to capture its prettyness. :) I hope you like it, too, and are inspired for an own sweet table or themed meal!

Like last time when I organized the summer picnic, my cooperation partner partyerie hast sponsored this sweet table project: Birgit let me choose my favorite items for her shop for this project, but see yourself:

All items shown above can be found in Birgit’s DaWanda shop partyerie and many of them are also available in other colors for different party concepts. I love working with her and her shop is one of my favorites, not only because of her wide range of items and bright and pretty product photos. :)
Have fun shopping there!

Thanks for reading and have fun preparing your own next food table!
Lu

P.S.: Although some items shown in this blog post were sponsored, this does not influence my personal opinion about this shop!

Shop Update: New Crochet Headbands (See Who’s Wearing Them).

September 21, 2013

Dear readers, it’s time for a shop update for the cold season! :) Remember last year’s collection of handmade crochet headbands I listed in my shop last fall? During the past weeks, I’ve been crocheting like crazy and I relisted nearly all of the colors and some headbands have already been sold. :)
So that you do not see only me wearing my handmade pieces, today I’ve got some extra special photos of some fellow bloggers and friends wearing my cozy headbands. Each of them is wearing their favorite color and combining the headband with their personal style, so exciting! See yourself!

This is me wearing a headband in apple red.

Cute Juli of heimatPOTTential wearing my dark green headband, perfectly matching her yellow accessories.

My lovely Instagram-pal Kathleen of msterious wearing my olive green headband that she bought last year.

Yeah, I often go for a mustard headband as fall accessory!

My sweet friend Stefanie of Squeaky Swing wears her dark green headband with a fall outfit. So cute!

Although you will probably all be staring at her cute kitty, have a look at my super pretty best friend Anja of aentschie’s Blog, wearing a grey crochet headband from my collection. :)

Pretty Stef of Magnoliaelectric wearing my handmade mustard headband last winter, color splash!

And last, but not least, sweet Laura of Tagträumerin with my dark green headband in her adorable living room. :) I love how she combined it with her knitted handmade orange dress!

I’m really excited about all those photos and as always, I’m happy about seeing my handmade items in usage in other people’s lives! :)
Below, you can find a screenshot of the headbands listed in my DaWanda shop. In addition to a white headband which is also available, below you can see all colors listed in my shop.

As you can also see in all of those photos, please note that the colors can vary, because each photo and pc setting displays different colors!
So if you have just fallen in love with one of my crochet headbands and have chosen your favorite color, you can simply find them in my crochet headband section in my DaWanda shop.
Keep yourself warm for the cold season! :)
