My Crafty Christmas Party Goody Bags // Giveaway

December 21, 2013

Hello hello, dear readers! :) Two days ago, I have already been blogging about last weekend’s Crafty Christmas party and today I want to show you the goodie bags and what was in them. :)
They consisted of sponsored items I got from some of my favorite cooperation partners and of some tiny surprises that I provided myself.

One of my goodie bag sponsors was edding. Apart from sending me lots of permantent markers for the DIY table, they sent white permanent spray for each goodie bag. I love their products and especially this spray paint, maybe you remember me using it for my bike restyle project or for my Advent candles. :) Can’t wait to see what my guests make with it!

My dearest aentschie, who is not only a blogger, but also a media designer, made this awesome printable for gift tags and envelopes for last minute presents or to make giving away money or a voucher more personal. :)

My lovely sponsor Snaply Nähkram provided us with their colorful heart pins. Using them always makes me happy when I’m sewing, because they are so colorful! :)

Of course there has also been something that I provided, so I filled the goody bags with my candy color reindeer postcards.

Another fantastic sponsor was Garn & mehr. Apart from receiving all the pretty rolls of yarn for the DIY tables, we also got the prettiest yarn rolls in each color for the goody bags, eeeks! This baker’s twine is perfect for DIY projects, for decor stuff and for wrapping presents. :)

Moreover, the guests got my handmade gift tags I designed recently. :) If you want to have them, too, you can simply print them out.

Last but not least, my goody bags were also filled with those pretty chevron paper bags by Partyerie (who also provided me with decor and supplies for my food table, blogpost coming tomorrow). These bags were perfect for filling them with sweets for my guests. :)

To fill them with all the pretty goodies, I first had to prepare the goodie bags. :)

For making and embellishing the goody bags, I could use all the supplies I have at home. Paper, twine, punchers, tape, …

Of course I used the beautiful baker’s twine.

Moreover, I recycled some pretty rolls of paper and used my handmade Christmas stamp for the tags.

To make those tags, I cut out white cardboard with the puncher and stamped them.

Using the baker’s twine, I finished my tags.

Because the paper bags were way too big, I had to make them smaller. I cut them in half and put the upper part into the lower part.
>
Then I used tape to fix it and my bags were ready.

Moreover, I embellished all of them with washi tape stars on the outside and later added the gift tags, tiny name tags and put tissue paper on top.

After finishing the goodie bags, they still needed to be filled with all those pretty things! :)

First of all, I made the candy bags.

Yummy!

Next, I rolled Anja’s printables and wrapped them in colorful twine.

Moreover, I used masking tape to embellish tea lights.

Don’t they look incredibly colorful and pretty? :)

I’m extremely happy about how the goody bags turned out and I love my concept of making them matching my candy color decor! :)
The best moment was definitely watching my guests opening them and being excited about the content, this was worth all the planning and effort! :)

So here’s a big thank you to my sponsors who made this possible:
Snaply Nähkram, Garn & mehr, aentschie’s blog, edding and Partyerie.

To send one of you a tiny Christmas present, here’s a little giveaway for you!
One of you can win such a goodie bag, there’s not much you need to do:
Leave a comment with your e-mail adress and tell me about your dearest wish for Christmas.
The giveaway will be closed on Saturday, December 28, 2013, 6 p.m. It’s open worldwide.

Good luck and happy holidays!

My Crafty Christmas Party

December 19, 2013

Hello my dear readers! After I had been hosting a Crafty Christmas party last year, I again threw one this year, it took place last weekend. It took me several weeks to plan and prepare everything, but it was SO worth the effort! :)
Before each party like this, I’m always super excited and am not able to relax until everything is as I want it to be, I always enjoy this busy and happy time of planning and making my ideas come true!

First of all, I had to rearrange the furniture in my room so that all crafty people would fit in here.

Apart from working on a table setting and from thinking about which materials to use, I prepared some super easy decor DIY projects.

When the guets came, our home was filled with great people! :)

To make it extra delicious, I prepared a sweet table (blogpost coming soon) and asked all the guests to bring something for the savory food table. Thus, we had plenty of delicious food!

We all chatted all afternoon and evening, ate way too much party salad and sweets and worked on easy peasy DIY projects for holiday decor. :)

Thanks to edding who sent a sponsoring package, we had plenty of colorful permantent markers for our projects which were super useful for colorful handlettering or drawings. edding also sent me permanent spray for the goodie bags, but there will be an extra blogpost about this. :)

Do you already know the super pretty yarn of Garn & mehr? I have been using it for a while and also got a great sponsoring package for my party. We received many rolls of yarn for our tables and also for the goodie bags (blogpost coming soon). This yarn is great for wrapping presents and for all kinds of decor and home projects! :)

Most of the things we have been working on were made of paper: diamonds, origami shapes, Christmas tree ornaments or gift tags.

Although the guys have been chatting most of the time instead of crafting with us girls, some of them even finished a tiny project in between. :)

Inspired by the awesome mistletoe-bunting I pinned to Pinterest, I made my own one and used it as photo background.

Because I love surprise presents and because I even like giving away presents as much as I like receiving them, I teamed up with my great sponsors in order to make goody bags for my guests. Can’t wait to show you their full content in an upcoming blogpost! :)

As you can see in the photos, this was a super happy afternoon and evening and totally worth the effort! Too bad that time always flies away so fast! It always takes me several weeks of preparation and then it’s only a few hours to enjoy the party and my guests.
I love spending time with other crafty people and I loooove hosting parties and to make up a concept for them. :)
Thanks to my lovely guests for making this day extra special! :*
Have you ever threwn a craft party? :)

Happy day!
Lu

My Colorful Video Game Party

December 11, 2013

Hello my der readers! :) Awww, I’m soooo excited about this blogpost and about finally being able to show you everything of last weekend’s party which I hosted.
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Nintendo‘s PR agency and asked if I was interested in a cooperation and in reviewing some of their products. Oh my, of course I wanted! They told me they found me because if my colorful blog and thought their games might fit into my colorful world.
Now you might wonder what my DIY blog has to do with video games, BUT it is also about a happy lifestyle and as a teenager, playing video games made me extremely happy. It was extra special to me because I did neither have an own TV in my room, nor did I have my own games console until a certain age. Thus, I always played Super Mario on my friend’s N64 at her place when we were in sixth grade and later I sold my Barbie toys to buy myself my own first console and then also got my best friend’s used Gameboy (not the color version, but the really really old one). :)
When I became older, I still loved video games (only the colorful ones like Super Mario, Sonic, Tetris or Donkey Kong), but hardly found the time to play anymore.
So when Nintendo contacted me, I immediately thought about all those memories when playing video games as a teenager, about the happiness and excitement when diving into this colorful, virtual world and what came to my mind instantly was the idea of a theme party and to bring the games into this context. Those of you who have already been reading my blog for a while might know that I absolutely LOVE theme parties, colorful decor and opportunities to dress up and wear a costume and me and my friends also like games nights, so this idea seemed to be perfect!

Then I collected ideas and planned a colorful video game night and Nintendo provided me with a brand new Wii U Premium Pack, four remote controllers and several games that I chose myself.

Of course I wanted to decorate everything according to the party’s theme, this is the best part of planning a party! :)

To make it even more colorful (because most of those games are made in bright primary colors), I bought a bottle of helium and some balloons.

You know, I had always been dreaming of a party with helium balloons and then I finally had a ceiling full of ballons. :) Total happiness!!!

Nintendo was so nice to sent me four remote controllers so that we could all play together. What was important for me about this cooperation was not just to simply show you the products, but to show what a great and funny event you can make out of the whole thing. :)
The games that I chose were ‘New Super Mario Bros. U‘ (eeeeeks, my favorite game of all times!!!), ‘Wii Party U‘ and ‘Sonic Lost World‘. Moreover, my Wii U Premium Pack came with another game called ‘Nintendo Land‘ which is like a virtual funfair and has several several colorful levels with party games.

What is extra nice about the Wii U is that it includes a Wii U GamePad which makes navigation super easy and which can also be used by an additional player. (Haha, do you spot the cute Yoshi shoes? ;D I got them for Flo for St. Nicholas and borrowed them while preparing the party.)

It took me several days to plan and prepare decor and on the day I hosted the party, I prettily decorated Flo’s room / the living room. I put up the balloons, hung up my handmade buntings and Tetris elements and prepared a sweet table and a small food table with some savory snacks.

Hey, I really adore those colorful paper cups and plates by Partyerie, some of them were still left frommy last party and Bye Bye Summer Sweet Table and from my summer picnic. :)
For the savory table, we simply had vegetables, potato salad, greek salad, bread and cheese.

Oh how I was in love with all those colors in this bright and white room. :)

It was perfect that we already had those two pillows that I once sewed: the gamepad pillow and the gameboy pillow. Those two ones were made as gifts (Flo loooves video games a lot more than I do) and then I also made more of them and added them to my shop. They sold super well and I got great feedback, but I didn’t list them anymore, because it takes so much effort to sew them. Nevertheless, they are so pretty at home and they were just perfect as additional decor for this party. :)

Each good party needs a sweet table, right? :) I made a cheesecake, bought donuts, popcorn and some sweets and made a Super Mario mushroom bunting and hung up honey combs (by Partyerie, IKEA and HEMA).

Aren’t those cute cake toppers adorable? :) I made them myself and simply drew those video game illustrations onto white cardboard, cut them out and glued toothpicks onto their back.

With or without this party decor, I love our home! :) What is great is that the colors in this room were ideal for this party concept and I didn’t have to change a lot in order to make everything look perfect

So for a great theme party, there’s one thing which must not be missed: a costume. Because Super Mario is my very favorite video game, of course I wanted to dress up as a character of this game and prepared a partner costume for Flo and me. At first, I thought about ordering blue overalls for us, but then I decided on a lower budget version which can be made without spending too much money on things we will probably never be wearing again. I only bought those white gloves and the two Mario and Luigi caps and for the rest of the costume we used clothes we were having at home anyway.

Isn’t he the cutest and most adorable Super Mario? :)))

Lu(igiiiiii)!

One of the best parts of the party was already before the guests came and we started playing, because we set up the self-timer on my camera, took my handmade moustache photo props and took some time to make funny photos. :) I love this guy so much, he’s always in when it’s about funny projects!

Dressing up, decorating the room and preparing everything enormously increased my desire to finally start playing. :)

Because I love this game so much (well, who doesn’t? :)), we started with Super Mario.

Our friends came, we pitched into the food and started playing full of excitement. It was so much fun to relax, to squeak, to giggle and to feel a little bit like a child again. :)
The best thing is that those colorful games aren’t only for kids and teens, they are still lots of fun when you’re grown up. :) Most of my friends love them and I can’t wait for my winter holidays when I’ve got lots of free time to enjoy my new Wii U and lots of adventures with Mario, Luigi and Yoshi.
As you might guess, I only like games which are interactive and communicative and can be played with friends. I’m not interested in single player games, it’s more fun with friends and when you can chat and jerk around while playing.

Apart from Super Mario, I also got Sonic Lost World. This is as colorful as Super Mario and also has a multiplayer option (although its normal story mode is super fun, too). Sonic is a cute hedgehog who goes on adventures and missions and discovers his colorful world. So much fun!

What is more, I also got Wii Party U. The look of this game is not as cute as in Super Mario and Sonic and it not primarily made for playing it alone (but there’s even the option to do so), but it is full of party games which you can play with the TV or as a house party. :) I think this might also be fun as a little part of a New Year’s party in between all this eating and chatting. :D

I’m super happy about having hosted this party and about having had such a fun day with good friends!

Now I can’t wait for my winter holidays and cozy hours at home when I have some time for relaxing and playing those colorful games with my friends, eeek!

So apart from telling you about my party, the colorful decor, the great games and the fun we had, I also have a little surprise for you:

One of you has the chance to win this ‘Super Mario 3D World‘ game, I got one for you and one to keep it myself. :)

What you need to do in order to enter this giveway:
Post a comment below in which you leave your valid e-mail adress and in which you tell me if you have any video game mories from cozy hours when you were a kid or teenager.
The giveaway closes on Wednesday, December 18, 6p.m.

Please be fair and don’t enter the giveaway if you don’t have any use for this game, thank you!

Thank you so much, Nintendo! :)

Good luck and thank you for reading and also thank you for all the awesome comments you alredy posted on Instagram! :)
Lu

P.S.: As you already read on top of this post, this is a sponsored cooperation, I got all the games, the joysticks and the console for review. Of course this fact does not change my personal opinion!
