Our tiny balcony garden.

March 18, 2012

Happy Sunday! :) Here are our tiny plants which are constantly growing, it’s so much fun to watch them becoming bigger and bigger.
I had to transplant some of the plants from small flowerpots to bigger ones and because I did this on the balcony, I took a few photos to share this with you. :) It’s still too cold for them to stay outside permanently, so they were only able to enjoy the beautiful weather for a few hours until I brought them inside again. :)

My mother sent me organic strawberry plants, can’t wait to eat the first fruits!! :) Moreover, we also have lots of basil and marjoram.

Here are the beautiful wooden vintage chairs I also got from my mother and you can also see my handmade felt pinwheels and the chives. :)

Lots of organic basil! <3 Apart from that, I sow cress and lavender and nasturtium. <3 How do you like my idea of using colorful washi tape and toothpicks to label all the pots?

Awww, spring is finally coming, I love those first warm days outside!
I hope you enjoyed this peek onto our balcony!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Pretty swap package from Mona.

March 17, 2012

Hellooo! :) Awwww, today I received a totally pretty, tiny package from Mona of ansteckend anders. We got to know each other through blogging and one day she wrote me an awesome mail with feedback concerning my shop and some really helpful advice and I’m so thankful for that! We exchanged some mails and then Mona (who comes from the same area in which I grew up, too <3) suggested to swap something. :) I sent her a mini pinboard and on the photo you can see what I got! I love her packaging and all the details, the pretty roe deer, the red paper, the colorful paper streamers, the thank you card, the buttons aaaand, of course, the owl brooch!! Thank you, Mona!! :) She chose an item from my shop which she liked (the pinboard) and I wanted to get a little surprise which would fit my style and taste and since I love owls and I love pink, this little brooch is just perfect! :)
Mona, I hope you’ll like my package, too (I hope it arrives soon)!
Ladies (and gents), as you can see, swaps are awesome!! I recently organized a theme swap with some friends and fellow bloggers, so you’ll be going to hear about that a lot more soon… :)
In the meantime feel free to have a look at Mona’s blog and shop, she makes unique brooches and other little accesories.
Enjoy your weekend and I hope you love being part of the DIY community as much as I do (especially on those days when I share thoughts and experiences with other creative people or take part in little (swap) projects like this… :))!

How I store my raw materials.

March 13, 2012

Hello, my dear readers! :) After I recently posted how I store the items for my shop, I have received a few questions by some of you about how I store my raw materials. Today I took a few photos to share them with you.
Well, after we moved to our new apartment last fall, I bought this huge, white table from IKEA. It’s awesome, because you can change its height and I love the two trestles which I use to store fabrics.

On my table next to the sewing machine I have lots of jars and little boxes where I keep yarn, buttons, zippers, lace, beads, cords, and so on… I love little containers which are transparent so that I can see all my materials and don’t forget to use them. :)

Next to my sewing table, there’s another small table under which I store lining and felt. On this table there’s a huuuuge, blue enamel bucket in which I keep wrapping paper, paper to create patterns and pretty tissue paper.

Do you still remember my post about this little embroidery hoop? I once found the awesome idea online and I made one for storing sewing tools and I used my favourite kind of fabric for making it. <3 I bought the wooden loop at the flea market. It’s so pretty!!
On the right photo you can see my tiny spice rack, I found it on DaWanda and I used it for organizing my textile colors.

Here are the awesome trestles on which I store my fabrics. One side is for those fabrics which are of only one color, the other side is for fabrics with a pattern. <3

Here’s another photo of my pretty sewing corner and a peek at my table. :) Here you can see all the tools and materials I regularly use for my sewing projects. I like it when everything is well-organized so that I can easily find everything and do not have to search for my tools or supplies.

For those of you who want to see more or for those readers who are relatively new to my blog, here’s a complete tour through my sewing room / bedroom. :)
Do you have any secret tips for awesome ways to organize your craft space? :)
Wish you a lovely evening, I hope you liked this peek at my creative corner! :)
