Hello everyone, let’s make easy DIY costumes! Halloween is coming soon and apart from this, there are always enough reasons to dress up and to come up with a costume idea.
I thought about quickly sharing old costume photos on Instagram, but then decided to rather dedicate a full blogpost to it.
During the past years, I went to so many theme parties or hosted them myself and each time, I did my costume myself. Most of the time, it was a super quick costume without much effort, skills or costs involved. So here we go, have a look at my easy DIY costumes and find inspiration for your next costume party.

Easy DIY Costumes
One of the easiest kind of DIY costumes ever:a superheroine / superhero costume. Just wear a dress, make yourself a mini cape and a mask out of felt. Super easy!
A while ago, I hosted a circus theme party and dressed myself up as ringmistress. As you can see, there is not much needed for this costume.
For this one, you just need a bit of make-up and ruffled clothes, then you can walk around as creepy adult-size doll.
For a maritime party many years ago, I dressed up as sailor lady. I simply pimped a red dress, worked on a few accessories and made this cute maritime outfit.
For a video game theme party some years ago, I dressed up as Luigi. I used clothes in matching colors which I already owned and just ordered hat and gloves online.
Last year for Halloween, I decided on a popcorn lady costume. I embellished box and hat and only used clothes I already owned. The same went for my Cheshire Cat costume a few years ago: you only need clothes in matching colors, some hair chalk and cardboard for the mini mouth mask.
A care bear costume is also super easy. If you own colorful clothes, try to find the colors of your fave care bear and make a cardboard sign for the belly and some ears out of felt.
For my birthday about ten years ago, I dressed up as Wonder Woman. I stitched stars onto the pants and made all the cuffs and stuff myself, cutting out hard felt and wrapping it with golden fabric. Super easy. Another last minute idea a while ago was going out as harlequin, just putting on some sad and creepy make-up and wearing colorful clothes.
One of my friends once celebrated her birthday with a space party. I came up with this silver space outfit. I already owned bag, slippers and skirt, I then sewed the shirt, made the stars for the head with some wired and used dry hair spray for the grey hair. So easy!
Which costume are you gonna make next?
