Baltic Sea.

June 28, 2010

Hi friends,
how are you? What have you been doing last weekend? :) On Saturday, Anja and I went to the Baltic Sea, we had just decided that the day before and were both sooo excited about that! :)
The German train company offers a special price every weekend with which one can go by train through whole Germany (‘Beautiful Weekend Ticket’), it is for five people at most and one can only use regional trains. The ticket costs 37€ for one day and because we didn’t find anybody who wanted to come with us, each of us had to pay 18,50€ for both routes which is still very cheap. From Potsdam where we live it took us about 4 hours to go to the sea, this is why we got up quite early on Saturday and took the train at 8 a.m.. During the journey, we were eating all the time, we had both prepared a lot of food like sandwiches, grapes, water melon, cherries, carrots and some chocolate. :) We arrived at noon and directly went to the beach, it was awesome!!!! We were so happy about smelling the fresh air of the sea and to stick our feet into the sand. :) First, it was a bit cold, because there were clouds all over the sky and it was very windy, but later we had much sunshine, lay in the sun in our bikinis and even went into the sea although it only had about 57,2°F (14°C)!!! :D We were nearly freezing when we went into the water, but the moment we were wet, it was great! We really enjoyed it and had so much fun, it was totally worth it! :) Before going back to the srain station after 5 hours, we ate some fish and French fries to end our great day at the sea. :) Our journey home took us 4 hours, too, and we were soo tired when we came home. Tired but happy. :)

I love those beautiful basket chairs.

Finally, the sun came out and the clouds disappeared.
I love sunbathing. :)

We have also taken some images with our analogous cameras, but it will take some time to develop the films. :)

DIY: My little owl army. :D

June 22, 2010

Hey, how are you? :) It’s so amazing that my readers are becoming more every day, I’m so happy each time I look at the follower section. It’s great to see that so many people are interested in what I’m creating, thank you for that, this makes me very happy! :)

Here’s a little do-it-yourself project I made yesterday, my lovely felt owls. One part is for the shop in Berlin where I want to bring them during the next days and one I will of course keep myself. :)

First, make a draft of your motif, cut out the felt of about the size you need and cut out the contours.

Next, add white eyes and sew them with white thread onto the owl bodies.

Add the pupils and if you want female owls, you will need eyelashes. :)
Next, add the safety pin on the back of the second felt layer.

Before you finally sew the two layers of felt together, attach a tiny piece of felt to the ears, and then add a white piece of felt to the pupil.
Here are the 5 ones I’ve made. :)

Garment labels and some news. :)

June 17, 2010

Hey ladies (and gents – haha, so far I haven’t discovered any male reader except from my friends I know in person :)), how are you today?
It was approximately one month ago when I brought my handmade stuff to the shop in Berlin, so far I have sold 5 items; one pair of earrings, 2 hairbows and 2 felt brooches. I’m very happy about having sold something for the first time in my life I’ve made myself! :) It feels so great! Nevertheless, I have to keep on working on more items and sell more of them, because otherwise the shop owners will suffer a financial loss with hosting my items. I’ve just made some cute new felt brooches, more about that in one of the next postings. :)
Moreover, I’ve recently ordered some garment labels, maybe one of you has already seen them hidden in a post where a part of them was visible… :) Here are some image where you can perfectly see them. :)

Any news from you? What are you currently working on? Has anybody of the ones who also attend the Red Velvet Summer Camp already completed one of the first projects? So far, I haven’t found the time to start… :)
Good night and lovely dreams! :)

Berlin on Sundays in summer.

June 11, 2010

Here are some of the lomography photos I made while I was spending time in Berlin. :)

The best place to go in Berlin summer’s Sundays, the Wall Park. <33

Cushion covers.

June 8, 2010

Here’s a project I have been wanting to do for so long and I finally pulled myself together to start sewing these cushion covers. :) My mother has given us two cushions for the chairs in our kitchen some months ago, but their surface is very scratchy. I recently bough this cute bird fabric during a shopping trip at Ikea and today I made these two cushions covers. :)

Because there is much more space than on my desk, I like working on the floor, but see who wanted to be with me all the time. :D

Isn’t he cute? He never wants to be alone and he is always sooo curious. While I was pinning up the fabric, he used my leg as a headrest. :D
