Easter Bunny has been here…

April 8, 2012

Dear readers, I hope you are having a fabulous Easter Sunday! :) I recently found Merrilee’s amazing tutorial for a bunny candy pouch on Pinterest and then I made my own version. :) Instead of felt, I used fabric leftovers and I love how the bunnies turned out. This DIY project is so awesome, I love her idea to sew those bunnies as a container for chocolate easter eggs. <3 How do you like these cute bunnies? :)
Enjoy your weekend!

Lots of phone photos from my everyday life.

April 5, 2012

Heyyy! :) Here’s a new edition of my series of fake polaroid photos and I think it could be the last one, because I found out that instagram is now available for android phones and I totally love it! :) I have already taken lots of photos and you can find me on instagram as Luloveshandmade! :)

As you can see, I prepared my new favourite outfit for a sunny spring day. <3 I love outfits in which all colors are matching each other.
That’s my collection of colorful tights and leggings, I always have the perfect color for a dress. :)
Aaaand here’s Mogli, sitting on our sunny balcony, waiting for something to happen.

I recently made lots of new oven cloth for my shop. I love those kitchen fabrics.
Flo and I tried out new lemonade we bought at an organic supermarket. Delicious!
My new favourite outfit with the dress my friend Malin sewed for me. I could cry, because a few days later I ruined it while I was washing it, now it’s pink!!! :((( I’m still trying to fix this.

Yay, the awesome package with craft tools and art supplies that Tchibo sent me. <3
Start dancing! A poster for a party I saw downtown.
This is the beautiful building next to the campus where I study and can you believe that the building in which I spend lots of time looks very similar to this one!? :) The most beautiful university I’ve ever seen.

Spring decor with the handmade fabric birds I got from Malin and Steffi of herzekleid. <3
New storage for my endless zippers, I used the pretty paper dish that Stef of magnoliaelectric sent me. :)
And little Mogli, sitting in the bathroom and supervising Flo while he’s taking a shower. :D

Bye bye, favourite winter outfit! I’m gonna miss you, pretty coat, soon it will be too warm to wear you. :)
Do you see this awesome wreath that Vivi of matzab made for me? :) It’s hanging on the wall in our hall.
I made apple stamps for stamping totes with textile colors. <3

These beautiful easter eggs are made by Vivi, too. :) They decorate my sewing corner. <3
My herbs and flowers are becoming bigger and bigger, I love watching them grow every day!
Kitchen decor: fresh tulips, my handmade apple bunting and fresh herbs.

I sewed a few floral pencil cases with spring patterns, they are now listed on DaWanda. :)
Moreover, I prepared fabric for a new bunting.
That’s the pretty floral brooch Jenny of wolkengleich made for me. <3 Today she’s coming to Potsdam to visit me over the weekend, can’t wait! :)

And finally the last row of photos: my new daily companion, a pretty strawberry pouch, again a present by Steffi of herzekleid which I use to store my keys. I love it. :)
My hair has become soooo long. I couldn’t imagine having short hair, I only cut my hair twice (one time when I was a child and one time about 5 years ago) and each time it didn’t take long until I was longing for long hair again. :)
Red rubber boots, a present from my mum. :) Yesterday it rained so bad that I had to wear them on my way to work in order to avoid getting wet feet. :)

I wish you a lovely rest of the week, enjoy your Easter weekend. :)
Thanks for stopping by,
Lu <3

DIY: Easy Circle Cutter Bunting

April 3, 2012

Helloooo everyone! :) Thank you for all your lovely feedback in the last posts! :)
For those of you who haven’t read it, yet, Tchibo sent me a package with craft tools and art supplies to test them and to report about my experiences. :) Here’s what used the circle cutter for, it’s the second item I tried out.

This cutter is very easy to handle and I always wanted to have such a thing, so it was my favourite item when I opened the package. :) You simply have to put it onto the paper (there’s a grip to hold it and to press it down) and then you can adjust the circle’s size and turn the cutter around its own central axis. The blade is super sharp and a second one is included in the prize. I love cutting out circles, I could have done this all day. :D
As you can see, I simply used the cutter to create home decor. I produced lots of circles in two different sizes, then I used my sewing machine to sew a paper festoon. I made two of them, one for the kitchen (it perfectly matches my decor) and one for the balcony to add a bit more color. There it matches my felt pinwheels. :)

I love projects that are as simple as this one and add color to your everyday life! How about you? :)
I’m still thinking of other projects I can use this cutter for, maybe I’m gonna make circular leaflets to promote my little business or I’m gonna cut out circles out of pretty magazines to use them to embellish greeting cards… We’ll see… :)
Wish you a lovely evening!

Oh, how much I love working with textile colors!

April 3, 2012

Hellooo! :) Yesterday I posted about the awesome package that Tchibo sent me for free to test their wares and here’s the first project I have been working on. :) I love textile colors so much and I love the good old-fashioned potato stamp technique. <3 As you can see, I used a potato to create those pretty ornaments which look like leaves and I also used it to make this little bunting. Afterwards, I also cut an apple into two halves to stamp onto the fabric and I added the leaves of the apples by hand. All the textile colors were from Tschibo (apart from the green I used for the apple’s leaves, I bought it at idee) and I must say that all the colors I received and used for this project are really good! :) The color’s consistency of this set is perfect and I especially love the turquoise and the bright red! Too bad that you can only buy the colors in a set and not each color seperately. :(
Have you made any experiences with textile colors? Any favourite projects? :)
Of course all these new totes went into my DaWanda shop, the links to each product are below. :) Which one is your favourite? I love the ones with the apples most. :)
