Hello, hello! Remember my last post featuring the craft supplies of my sponsor idee. Creativmarkt? I posted a tutorial for how to make an easy wire statement necklace. This time, I’m going to show you how to make a toy animal necklace, also using craft supplies I have chosen and idee. Creativmarkt sponsored for this cooperation. Have fun making your own necklace! :)
To make such a toy animal necklace, you need:
– Toy animals made of plastic or rubber
– Round hooks (available at the hardware store)
– Colorful strings or cords with a lenght of about 75cm (via idee. Creativmarkt, for example leather strings in different colors or cotton strings in various colors like I used here in this DIY)
First of all, you need your toy animal and the round hook which works like a screw. Take it and screw it into your animal’s bag. If it’s too difficult to start and get into the plastic or rubber of the animal’s back, take a sharp item (for example the tip of a circle) to prepare the hole. Then screw the round hook into the animal.
Next, take your string and pull it through the hole. I didn’t want to use a conventional necklace clasp, I rather wanted the lenght of the necklace to be flexible. Thus, I decided to make a special knot (as shown on the photos) which allows me to adjust the necklace’s lenght each time I wear it. This way, it can be worn matching each shirt’s individual neckline.
Moreover, I wanted to make several necklaces at once and therefore I used a different string color for each necklace. Those cotton strings from idee. are my favorites and I have already used them quite often for jewellery projects.
That’s it, eeeeks!
And another one with a pink string. I love pink! :)
Sooo cute! Are you going to make such an easy necklace, too? Which animal will you choose? :)
Have fun!
Lu
P.S.: As always, although some of the supplies for this blog post have been
sponsored, this doesn’t touch my opinion on the sponsor or my decisions
concerning this blog post’s content! :)
Oh how sweet!! <3
Schöne Idee! So eine süße Kette hübscht sicher auch das langweiligste Outfit auf :)
Woweee, these are just adorable! <3
So pretty :)
So easy and cute! I've also made this kind of necklaces before, you can check them here:

I would also suggest spray paint the plastic toys first for a more glamorous look. :-)
Dear Anzouya, thanks for your feedback! :) Indeed, I have been thinking about coloring them, but then I decided to keep the animals this way in order to keep it simply with brown colors for fall. :)
I have just discovered your blog Lu and I love it. I'm a big fan of Elsie Larson and could tell she was an influence here but I love how you have made your blog your own and personal. It's great, really full of fun reads. X
Haha, so funny, you're the first one telling me this! :) But Elsie Larson and her crafts are incedibly awesome, how could she NOT have influenced me! :) Thanks for the compliments aniways! :)
Sind die Tiere auch von Idee??? Suche schon so lange welche für ein DIY :(

There you can find plastic toys exporters from where you can explore your business opportunities around the world.
Where did you find these cute little animals?? I always find ones that aren’t that realistic, so it’s not as cute!
