Hello everyone! Here’s a new part of my home tour category! From time to time, I have been sharing photos of my room and when we moved in here last fall, I shared a tiny home tour.
Since we have moved into this flat, I changed my room a lot and my (interior) style has developed even more, so I thought it would be fun to make a new room tour and to show you how I live.
Flo and I have a flat with two rooms, each of us has one of them. His room is also used as living room and my room (which is the place where all my creative processes take place) is also our bedroom.
I love bright and big rooms with high walls and I love old buildings and this is why this home is just perfect for us! :)
I mostly own white furniture, because I love this look and white furniture allows all my colorful belongings show to advantage.
In the past, I have always been painting my room light blue, but a few years ago, I decided to keep the walls white, because this lets me better display colorful things and thus, my room is bright and friendly.
My furniture is a mixture of IKEA, eco-pieces and thrift-store finds and this way, it’s interesting to look at all the contrasts and the composition of different pieces of furniture and the variety of materials and shapes. What is important to me is that everything looks aesthetically and that I have enough space to display memories. Our bed is opposite the windows and allows us to look outside and enjoy the sunlight coming into the balcony door.
A few months ago, I did a makeover of the bed’s corner, I created a new color scheme and sewed lots of different, new pillows to make the bed more cozy. I love this romantic look! As you can see, here I also used lots of white and added a few rose, pink and light green splashes of color.
I love all the pillows in different sizes and patterns, because the usage of many different pillows and blankets makes it even more cozy.
I love my white closet, inside you can find all my colorful, beloved dresses. On top of it, I’ve got two big boxes in which I store Christmas decor. It’s obviously a good idea to put boxes on top of furniture to add extra storage and to fit even more stuff into one room (even when there is only limited space available).
And why hide suitcases or holdalls in a lumber room? As long as they are pretty, they can be perfectly displayed, too (as I did it with my red weekender and cooling box on top of the book shelf).
You may call me crazy, but I love to sort books by color, because I think this looks extra pretty! :) Directly next to my book shelf, I store all my favourite bags (I’ve got even more, but here are only the ones I use frequently). Therefore, I use a vintage coat hook I once found online. The vintage typewriter I got from my mother is an extra eyecatcher in this tiny corner.
Above my mirror there’s a pretty bunting I once got from Steffi of Herzekleid, I like it so much!
Why not display pretty materials instead of hiding them in a drawer? Those balls of wool add extra color to this part of the room, it’s the same with my crayons.
I love my cord easy chair with the cute matryoshka pillow Anja once made me as a birthday present. :) Next to it, there’s my desk where I do all the computer work and paper work. I did a makeover with my desk chair and made a new fabric cover. Above my desk, there are lots of photos and memories so that I can always look at them and smile.
What is also above my desk is the old seedling box I found on the flea market last year. I painted it white and hung it onto the wall. Using seedling boxes allows you to perfectly display and store jewellery and other accessories, I totally like this.
That’s my tiny collection of washi tape and (mostly) handmade stamps. I made most of my stamps out of rubbers and I use them to embellish orders and envelopes.
Thats’s my pretty, new chest of drawers I got a few weeks ago. I love it a lot, because chests of drawers always provide you with lots of space for storing odds and ends and in my case, lots of craft supplies. Moreover, it also helps to sort tiny things and to organize everything better.
As you can see, it’s also a nice place to display a part of my camera collection and some memories.
What is always pretty to look at are photos displayed above a chest of drawers, this is really effective and gives them a central position and highlights them.
This is my very favourite part at home, my craft table! Here’s where I sew, craft and create. As you can see, I placed my sewing table next to the window so that there is enough light. I love that this corner is white, too, because this way, all the colorful details look even better and it creates an atmosphere in which I love working. I’m only inspired when everything is well-organized, clean and pretty to look at, otherwise my productivity is blocked. Moreover, I love to display items on different levels, because this makes my belongings more interesting to look at, gives more variety and thus, it’s also easier to organize stuff. Above my sewing table there’s a wine crate I once bought (it was a bargain and I had to buy it because I didn’t find any on a flea market), I painted it white and now use it as a tiny shelf to store my fabric scraps. The pink spice rack is used to store and display all my textile colors and I once took an embroidery hoop to create a frame for displaying sewing tools (I got the idea from Pinterest). As you can see, the conversion of things for another purpose is awesome to create storage space and makes a room or a wall more interesting to look at!
What is more, I use a turquoise enamel flower pot to store all my wrapping paper and I have several tiny jars on my sewing table in which I keep sewing supplies.
On the wall above this table there are many colorful illustrations I also found in Pinterest. I printed them out and they always make me happy when I look at them. :)
What’s really practical is that my sewing table has legs with an additional option to store something and this is where you can find all my fabric. Thus, it’s always within reach and I love that I can see it, because I always need to see my materials in order to be inspired, so displaying them in a way that I can look at them at any time often inspires me and stimulates new ideas.
It’s the same with all my tiny sewing supplies, I display all the tools and materials so that I don’t forget what I own and can easily get inspired by looking at them. Moreover, I love all the colors in my room in contrast to the white walls!
My sewing machine is one of my most precious material possessions!
So here’s the shelf in which I store and display all my handmade items that I sell. Here, I use several boxes and bowls to subdivide cubbies and to create more storage space for smaller items. On top of the shelf there are some of my favourite magazines and books that inspire me. :)

Ich würde ja sofort in dieses Zimmer einziehen! :-) Gefällt mir wirklich sehr gut! Und ich hoffe so sehr, dass wir auch bald eine größere Wohnung finden… jetzt suchen wir ja schon länger… und dann mach ich mich auch ans Einrichten und Dekorieren :-)

ich war ja schon immer sehr begeistert von deinem Zimmer – es ist alles so durchdacht und es wirkt so ordentlich, aber dennoch lebendig – einfach durch das Weiß als Grundlage und deine ganzen bunten Sachen!

Ich liebe dein Zimmer und all die Ideen, die da drin stecken! Ich finde es so toll, dass wirklich alles seinen Platz hat und selbst die banalsten Dinge wunderschön präsentiert werden. Auch deinen Entschluss, die Wände weiß zu lassen, finde ich super – so kommen all die kleinen farbigen Details noch besser zur Geltung! Und das Beste: dein Raum sieht auch wirklich so aus, wenn man dich besuchen kommt. (: Bei mir wird schnell alles wieder unordentlich, aber du bist mir da jetzt ein Vorbild. (:

Your room is SO awesome, wow! I loved every single bit of it. So colourful! And the white walls & the wood floor make a great combo!
Ich muss jetzt einfach loswerden, dass ich deinen Einrichtungsstil liebe! Mir gefällt der Kontrast von bunten Accessoires mit weißen Wänden extrem gut. Und bei so vielen Detailfotos glaube ich immer, dass das Zimmer endlos groß ist, aber du hast einfach deine Materialien so gut organisiert! Ich bin vor kurzem umgezogen und auch gerade dabei, meine ganzen Stoffe zu ordnen. Und es stimmt, dass man inspirierter ist, wenn man seine Materialien auch sieht. Der kleine Couchtisch ist übrigens sehr schick, ist der von Ikea und neu bemalt?
Ich liebe auch deine vielfältigen und bunten Stoffe, egal ob bei der Bettenlandschaft (ja es ist kein Bett mehr für mich, sondern eine Wohlfühloase! :D) oder bei den Rohstoffen, obwohl du so viele Farben und Muster kombinierst, sieht es nie überladne oder unordentlich aus. Ich bin auch ganz verliebt in die Bücherherzen, die sind unglaublich süß!
Ich bewundere dich wirklich dafür, dass du so viele Dinge unterbringst und nebenbei auch Hingucker hast wie die tollen alten Kameras auf deiner neuen Kommode. Einfach alles an deinem Zimmer gefällt mir :)
Ich muss dir da einfach ein Kompliment nach dem anderen machen.
Am meisten beeindruckt es mich wohl, dass du so viel selber gemacht hast (die Kissen, die Deko, etc.).
Ich nehme an, die tollen Stoffe und das Zubehör bekommst du auch unter anderem in dem Stoffladne wo du nebenbei arbeitest?

OH My God!!!!!!!! I love love love love love your room!!….It's tooo pretty!!! I want almost everything in your room!! :)…I love the whitishness and pinkishness…and all the other colors…It reflects a very artistic nature….
And let me guess you probably have no kiddos below the age 0f 3 in your house!! right?? But I do ( my sis's kids..I love them…but they will not leave a single pretty thing alone…thus displaying a lot of things is not easy for me :(

Dein Zimmer ist echt wunder, wunderschön. Ich hab meine Bücher auch jahrelang nach Farben sortiert, das ist total süß. War nur jetzt nach de Umzug zu faul, das wieder zu tun, und sie sind grad so gu nach größe sortiert… seufz.

ich kann mich dem positiven Lob nur anschließen – einfach ein wunderschönes Zimmer, das Mädchenherzen höher schlagen lässt.
Für mich sofort umsetzbar: Bücher nach der Farbe zu sortieren! Einfach und genial mit Soforteffekt. :)
Zur Zeit leben ich noch in "reduced circumstances" – in einer Ferienwohnung in der Nähe meines (nun nicht mehr so neuen) Arbeitsplatzes. Die Mieten bei München sind einfach zu hoch und meine bisherige Wohnungssuche war sehr ernüchternd. Aber ich freue mich schon darauf, eine neue kleine Wonung einzurichten und werde dann auf deine Tipps zurückkommen. (Aka hemmungslos abgucken…*hust* ;) )
